During 2023, I had the honor and pleasure of seeing Walter's incredible performance in "Blanchard: Fire Shut Up in my Bones" during the historic reopening of the MET OPERA after New York's resurgence from COVID. That experience turned into an unexpected and amazing creative collaboration for Walter's nomination and win at the 65th GRAMMY Awards.
At just 14, Walter Russell III of Harlem is now the youngest Black male to win a Grammy Award for his performance in "Blanchard: First Shut Up in My Bones."
Walter says it warmed his heart to receive the honor. "I hope this paves the way for all Black actors or kids who want to do something like this." (Source: Fox 5 New York)

"Congratulations to Walter Russell III (@wr3hrlm) for winning his first Grammy for best opera recording of Fire Shut Up in My Bones! In true opera fashion, Walter wanted to rock a tuxedo with tails that zipped off into a cropped jacket! We went with a neon yellow to highlight his youthfulness with blue piping to highlight our new Ghost line it up." Brandon Gray for Grayscale
