Adam Lippes Fall 2015 Ready-To-Wear
Initial reaction to Adam Lippes' understated Fall 2015 RTW was thoroughly met with some excitement over the exaggerated wooly sweaters featured in this collection that were hand knit. Knitwear oversized-pile shoulder trend has shown itself to be a favorite amongst editors, and surely they will appreciate how the overall silhouette and texture is represented int his collection. Also couldn't help but notice the beauty of his multicolor floral print against black which was very reminiscent of a standout dress from RED Valentino. Why Viola Davis should wear her natural hair to the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
![]() | "Step Into Who You Are." - Julius Lennon
Why Viola Davis should wear her natural hair to the 84th Annual Academy Awards.
Julius Lennon, husband of 2012 Academy Awards Best Actress Nominee Viola Davis, was reported encouraging his wife to step out wearing her natural hair to the 5th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon. "'If you want to wear it for your career, that’s fine, but in your life wear your hair. Step into who you are!’ And he's right. Viola noticeably makes conscientious decisions about where and around whom to wear her short natural. For the sake of cultural understanding, natural hair will and will always be a source of empowerment. Because of her industry, there is a part of Viola that may lean toward or against what her publicist may suggest for red carpet appearances. When you hear the Best Actress Nominee speak with eloquence and passion about her art, the natural hair is a compliment to Viola's spirit; This is evident in a remarkable shoot featuring Davis on the February 2012 cover of LA Times Magazine.
Viola arriving to the 84th Annual Academy Awards wearing her natural hair, gown and all, would be a powerful statement; It has the potential to break beauty barriers women have internalized, not just in the world of entertainment, everywhere.
UPDATE: And then this magical moment happens, Viola Davis at the OSCARS.
